Our Transaction Tax team in the Midlands are growing, and we’re currently seeking a Transaction Tax Senior Manager to join them on their journey.

 

About the team…

 

Our Transaction Tax team help buyers and sellers optimise their tax position and manage tax risks arising on  transactions.  Offering structuring and tax due diligence services and working closely with our corporate finance and transaction services team, as well as external advisors.

 

In what can be complex, stressful and fast paced situations, the team provides invaluable support and significant value to individuals and businesses undertaking transactions.

 

The team is spread across our offices in the Midlands and London and looking to increase the team in both locations as well as expanding into the North West. 

 

About the day to day…

 

You'll be responsible for managing the provision of tax due diligence and TT advisory services in respect of a wide range of projects and in respect of a diverse range of targets and clients. You’ll get stuck into a diverse range of tasks and responsibilities, including;

 

  • Actively managing complex tax due diligence, structuring and advisory projects
  • Delegate and review junior members work prior to seeking senior sign off
  • Own and run Transaction Tax projects with autonomy consulting on risk areas
  • Leading on regular/recurring project update calls and when presenting findings or conclusions arising from your work - increasing involvement in calls which may be more contentious or technical
  • Typically be the main points of contact for clients on projects
  • Collaborating with clients to address tax related queries or concerns
  • Prepare sound tax advice using tax technical knowledge and demonstrate confidence in researching legislation and primary sources and presenting conclusions
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of our ways of working alongside senior members of the team, be active in your role as a senior member of the transaction tax team
  • Assisting with business development activities, including identifying opportunities to cross-sell services and generating new business leads
  • Potential to manage a team of trainees or Assistant Managers - coaching and supporting the juniors to help with their technical and professional development

In addition to those core values, as a Transaction Tax Senior Manager, you should be/have;

 

  • Qualified accountant or tax advisor with significant experience in business tax and/or industry
  • Experience of a range of corporate tax matters including those relevant for owner managers, PE and large corporate business
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK tax laws and regulations
  • Proven experience in managing a portfolio of clients and delivering high-quality tax services
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
