About the role...

We’ve got a brilliant opportunity for a self-motivated and ambitious Senior Manager and VAT specialist to join our growing Indirect Tax team, led by Simon Shaw. The role is also open to ambitious and experienced Managers that are looking to advance their career journey.

Following a transformative year where Cooper Parry’s Indirect Tax portfolio has more than doubled in size and, looking to keep that momentum for the future, there is no better time for you to become a key part of this incredible team, helping to shape the next phase of growth.

As a Senior Manager in our VAT team, you will…

  • Be technically excellent with an ability to solve issues for clients
  • Mentor and develop junior colleagues, supporting and guiding to help build their knowledge further
  • Lead on building and maintaining client relationships with the support of the wider team
  • Have a sense of pride in your work and strive for an exceptionally high-quality output
  • Build relationships with clients and prospects as well as firm-wide team members
  • Be curious about businesses and their issues, focusing on helping them better manage indirect taxes

We’re one of the fastest growing accountancy firms in the UK; winning Regional Tax Team of the Year and the Best Tax Employer at the Tolley’s Tax Awards, and Best Company in Europe in the European Engagement Awards. Why? Because we put our people at the heart of our success.

About you...

We are looking for someone who shares our vision so we can continue to move ourselves forward. Play to your strengths, we say. Create a role you’re truly passionate about. Then, work flexibly to design a life that’s right for you.

You’ll be passionate about the success of Cooper Parry as a whole and its extensive client base… You won’t just want to answer indirect tax queries, you’ll want to support businesses achieving their own growth journey as they aim to grow domestically and also, for some, on an international stage too.

If you are technically brilliant and world class at building client relationships or reckon you could be if given the opportunity… let’s talk. We also recognise that some people prefer the technical side of the role more than the being out in the market. Others would rather spend more time on client relationships and origination than with their heads buried in the legislation.

As we’ve already got people who are brilliant at VAT and others who are brilliant at building new relationships then we can find space for you whether you are a technical guru, a sales and relationships maestro or both.

What you'll need...

  • World class indirect tax technical skills
  • Commercially excellent
  • First-class problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build and retain strong teams and relationships
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Show sound judgement and entrepreneurial flair
