About the role...

We’re looking for a new People & Payroll Coordinator to come and join Cooper Parry’s People Team based in our East Midlands HQ in Castle Donington!

You’ll sit in our People Coordinator team and will be exposed to all things people focused, from the day-to-day administration to exciting forward-thinking projects. This role is perfect for someone who is a people person with an eye for detail, a flare for organising and finds coordinating a doddle.

As People & Payroll Coordinator, you will provide support across the People and Payroll teams, being the main point of contact for all things admin related and supporting our Payroll Specialist with our monthly payroll cycle.

The role includes a whole host of activities but here's a quick overview:

  • Driving and delivering the new starters and leavers processes (including onboarding); producing accurate new starter documentation, managing and delivering new starter communication, issuing payslips, P45/P60 form for leavers and other payroll documents as necessary
  • Inputting payroll data into our payroll system accurately and on time ensuring compliance with statutory and contractual pay obligations
  • Supporting the creation of letters e.g. probation pass, pay review and bonus
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records for audits and internal reviews
  • Managing some of our family friendly procedures
  • Supporting with payroll reports and documentation
  • Administration of employee benefits
  • Alongside other Coordinators - managing our People Team Inbox, assisting with general and employee queries, i.e. holiday entitlements, booking leave, payslips, deductions and payroll issues, knowing when to escalate queries to the HR advisors or BPs
  • Getting stuck in with wider team projects as well as taking the lead on some smaller administrative projects

About you...

At Cooper Parry, we’re in it together. All we ask of our people is that they play all in. You’ll continuously strive to keep learning. You’ll be brave, stepping out of your comfort zone to tackle new challenges. Above all, be nice. A simple notion, but an irreplaceable part of what makes CP, CP.

As a People & Payroll Coordinator, we cannot stress how important attention to detail is within this role. You need to be accurate, reliable but efficient.

You’ll be able to demonstrate:

  • Top notch organisation in fast paced environment
  • Ability to prioritise workload, balancing your people coordinator responsibilities with providing a first-class payroll service
  • A passion for HR with a genuine interest in what you're doing day to day; staying updated with changes in Tax Laws and Labour Regulations affecting payroll
  • Demonstrate an innovative approach to see continuous improvement
  • Eager and quick to learn
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong communicator who demonstrates the ability to collaborate with HR and Finance teams for payroll inputs and reconciliations
  • Fantastic team spirit
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word and Excel with strong payroll system aptitude (including V-Lookups, Pivot Tables and Formulas)
