About the role...

Are you a problem solver? Do you thrive on organisation and bringing method to the madness?

Following a period of significant expansion, we’re currently on the hunt for a Tax Resource Manager to support and help develop our growing, national team.

You’ll be integral to ensuring the Tax team runs smoothly, working alongside stakeholders to ensure work is allocated efficiently, as well as using insights to influence decision-making around people and recruitment matters.

This is an opportunity to play a crucial role in one of our key service lines, driving efficiency and strategy, and ultimately contribute to further growth and success.

About the day to day…

You'll get stuck into a diverse range of tasks and responsibilities, including;

  • Managing the deployment of resources to match client needs and the skills of the team
  • Working closely with stakeholders to find solutions for resourcing conflicts, monitor client information flow, and redistribute resource to reduce ‘idle time’
  • Contributing to the development and ongoing maintenance of resource data to ensure management has clear, accurate visibility of team capacity and utilisation
  • Understanding headcount levels across the business unit to enable fair work allocation and feed into wider recruitment and people development strategy
  • Monitoring utilisation levels across all grades and ensuing over/under-utilisation is challenged, flagged or escalated
  • Ensure that processes are followed by stakeholders, including holiday booking/study leave/non-chargeable projects etc
  • Work closely with our Student Support Manager to allocate time out of the business for training courses, college and exams
  • Provide regular data driven insights to key stakeholders on upcoming capacity, peaks and conflicts to help enable and drive business decisions
  • Delivering training to new team members on resourcing processes, the importance of effective resource management, and how to use 'our resourcing platform' to support this
  • Supporting the development and implementation of a plan to expand resourcing into regional areas, contributing to the creation of a cohesive national approach for Business Tax
  • Actively supporting the development of team members through coaching, knowledge sharing, and day-to-day guidance
  • Continuously identifying and implementing improvements to the resourcing process to drive efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness
