About the role...

 

Are you a seasoned CFO who loves variety and thrives under pressure? Do you want to work with ambitious SMEs and PE-backed businesses, shaping strategy and driving growth?

 

Our Business Services & Outsourcing (BSO) team is growing, and we’re looking for a Part time 3-4 day a week, Fractional CFO to join us on this exciting journey.

 

You'll dive into a diverse range of responsibilities, including:

 

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of fractional CFO engagements across multiple clients.
  • Act as the senior finance voice, partnering with founders, boards, lenders, and investors.
  • Drive transaction readiness by tightening reporting, governance, and management information.
  • Provide strategic finance support: budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, funding strategy, and M&A.
  • Build strong commercial relationships and identify opportunities for Cooper Parry to add value.
  • Scale advisory capability and support expansion into new markets
  • Drive improved financial performance, cash flow, and liquidity
  • Embedded strategic finance leader across a portfolio of clients in the South of England
  • Market development & practice growth (South of England)
  • Risk management & governance frameworks

You’re commercially sharp, highly organised, and ready to juggle multiple clients without breaking a sweat. You can parachute into new businesses, build instant credibility, and guide boards through complex decisions.

 

In addition to those core values, as a Fractional CFO you should:

 

  • 10+ years operating at CFO level across multiple organisations.
  • Proven experience with PE-backed or high-change environments.
  • Track record in debt/equity funding, M&A, and strategic planning. Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Demonstrable track record of cash improvement, forecasting accuracy, and finance transformation
  • Strong Excel/Power BI; ERP exposure (e.g., NetSuite, Sage, Xero)
  • Availability for 3–4 days per week across the South region
